Plan your university applications

See which Computer Science degrees your A Levels keep open, work out your IBCC equivalence and put every admission date in your calendar.

6 steps about 4 min Students, Parents

Open the University Planner

Steps

  1. Step 1: Tick your subjects

Where: University Planner → “1 · Your A Level subjects”

Tick every A Level you take. Turn on Add predicted grades to see where an offer is a stretch.

    Open this screen
  2. Step 2: Pick countries and degrees

Where: “2 · Where and what”

Choose countries and, if you like, a degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, Computer Engineering). Each degree shows Open, Conditional, Stretch, Check or Closed with the reason.

  3. Step 3: Check the rule yourself

    Where: Each degree card

The university's rule opens the page the rule came from; the card shows the day we checked it. Use Compare for up to three degrees side by side.

  4. Step 4: Try “What if I drop…”

    Where: “What if I drop…”

Tap a subject to see which degrees close without it.

  5. Step 5: Work out your IBCC equivalence

    Where: “IBCC equivalence calculator”

Enter O and A Level grades and sessions. The planner then flags universities whose minimum percentage you are below.

    Open this screen
  6. Step 6: Share it and save the dates

Where: Parents' table (PDF) and the Deadlines calendar

Download the table for your parents. On the calendar, Add these … to my calendar (.ics) saves every date; the Exam Planner can add them to its file too.
