Ask and answer in the Discussion Corners
Post a question or join the chat with students taking the same papers — and bring AskZ into any thread with @AskZ.
6 steps about 4 min Students, Teachers
Open the cornersSteps
Step 1: Pick a corner
Where: Discussion Corners
Open this screenOne for each level, plus Code Clinic for stuck code and Exam Room for papers and revision. Anyone can read; sign in to post.
Step 2: Choose a nickname
Where: Corners → Choose your nickname
It is the only name classmates see — never your email. You can change it once a week.
Step 3: Ask a question
Where: Questions tab → New thread
Give it a clear title, say what you tried, paste code in a block and tag the topic. Similar questions appear while you type — the answer may be there already. Tick Anonymous to classmates if you'd rather not show your nickname (teachers still see it).
Step 4: Bring in AskZ
Where: Composer → @AskZ, or Ask AskZ on a thread
AskZ reads the thread and answers for everyone, from ZAK's notes and the mark schemes. Each answer uses one of your daily AskZ messages.
Step 5: Close the loop
Where: Under a reply → Accept answer
Accept the reply that solved it so others can find it. Teachers endorse the best answers; helpers earn reputation.
Step 6: Stay safe
Where: Any post → ⋯ → Report / Block
No private messages and no contact details — everything happens in the open. Report anything wrong and ZAK sees it; block anyone and you won't see them again.
Common questions
Who can see my posts?
Everyone who opens that corner. Anonymous posts show a made-up name like “Anonymous Teal Owl” to classmates; ZAK and your class teacher can still see who wrote them.
Can I run the code in a post?
Yes — every code block has Run in the lab, which opens it in the Pseudocode, Python, SQL, assembly or Prolog lab.
Can I use the corners in the ZAPP app?
Yes — on Android and iPhone open the menu → Discussion Corners (or the Corners button on Home). It is the same corners, the same account and the same @AskZ; a corner link from the website opens straight in the app.
