Keep class lists and set work for them
A standing list of your students — from a spreadsheet, a join code or Google Classroom — so the papers you set appear on their account page and you see who hasn't sent theirs.

Open Class listsSteps
Step 1: Make a list
Where: My classes → Class lists → New class list
Open Class listsGive it a name (“Year 10 Blue”) and a level, then Create class list.
Step 2: Add students from a spreadsheet
Where: Class list → Add students → Paste or upload CSV
Paste names and emails or upload a CSV — with or without a header, a Google Classroom export or one email per line. Check the preview, then Invite students. Each student accepts the invitation when they sign in with that email.
Step 3: Or give them the join code
Where: Add students → Join code
Students type the six letters on their account page. With Approve automatically off, each one shows as “Asked to join” for you to Approve. New code retires the old one; Close to new students stops joins.
Step 4: Or bring in Google Classroom
Where: Add students → Google Classroom
When it is switched on: sign in with Google, pick the class, and its students arrive as invitations. Until then, use a CSV.
Step 5: Set a paper for the list
Where: Built paper → Share with your class → For class list
Open this screenChoose the list before Make a class link. Its students see the paper under Set work; the class list shows how many have sent it, and the results page lists who hasn't yet.
